Denise Lewis Children: Lauryn Stevens, Joe O’Connor, Kane O’Connor, Ryan O’Connor

Denise Lewis is a former heptathlon specialist and British sports broadcaster. She was born on August 27, 1972. She won the heptathlon gold medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games, and the 1998 European Championship title.

She also has two silver medals at the World Championships. Her heptathlon record of 6,831 points was established in the Décastar competition in 2000. She comes in third place on the all-time British lists, after Jessica Ennis-Hill and Katarina Johnson-Thompson, thanks to this previous British record.

In the 2001 New Year’s Honours, Lewis received the distinction of Officer of the Order of the British Empire. She has worked in the television and media industry since she called time off her career in athletics.

She frequently provides commentary on athletic events for BBC Television, including those for London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020.

Her daughter Lauryn was from her previous marriage with Belgian athlete Patrick Stephens. She shares her three sons with a talent manager  Steve Finan O’Connor.
