Waterman, who was banned from driving for three years in January 1991, following his second drink-driving conviction in four years, appeared in 29 films, the last was released in 2020.
Waterman was a huge fan of Chelsea F.C. His passion for football was reflected in his being chosen to present Match of the Seventies from 1995 until 1996.
It was the nostalgic BBC show that highlights the most memorable football matches of the 1970s.

Hannah Waterman is the daughter of the late English actor and singer Dennis Waterman and British actress Patricia Maynard.
Hannah Elizabeth Waterman is an English actress who is best known for her portrayal of Laura Beale in the BBC soap opera EastEnders.

Waterman joined the cast of BBC soap opera EastEnders as Laura Dunn in February 2000. Waterman previously appeared in the soap as an HIV patient in 1997.
She attended Norwich High School for Girls and Saint Felix School, Southwold and Putney High School. She is also a graduate of the University of Warwick.
Waterman married fellow EastEnders actor Ricky Groves in 2006. They separated in 2010 and divorced in 2014.
