Frances Tiafoe is an American professional tennis player. He was born in the state of Maryland in January of 1998 to Frances Sr. Tiafoe and Alphina Kamara.
The two had migrated from Sierra Leonne to search for greener pastures.
Frances Sr. worked as a construction laborer initially before his appointment as a custodian of the same sports complex he had helped construct.
Alphina worked as a nurse, and both boys lived with their mother when she was not working the night shift.
Frances excelled as an amateur player, winning six ATP Challenger titles and one ITF circuit Futures title.
