Don Leslie Lind was an American scientist, naval officer, aviator, and NASA astronaut who was born on May 18, 1930, in Midvale, Utah, United States.
In 1953, he graduated from the University of Utah with an undergraduate degree in physics.
He earned a Ph.D. in high-energy nuclear physics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1964 following his military service obligation.
Don Lind passed away on August 30, 2022, at the age of 92. He died from natural causes.
