Ghana’s national team coach, Chris Hughton has expressed his satisfaction with the draw against Angola.
The experienced manager made some injury-enforced changes before the match and did the same in the second half of the clash against Angola on Monday. As a result, Ghana earned a draw on the day.
Chris Hughton who spoke in a post-match interview stated that there is good team spirit in the camp of the Black Stars.
He admitted that Angola has some very good technical players, especially in the attacking areas.
So we knew that defensively we will have to be good and we would have to be solid because they are such a good expansive technical team we wanted to use the spaces and attack fast, he further stated.
He added that he thought once they scored the penalty it gave his team a lift, and inspiration to get back into the game, and it’s normal that Angola dropped maybe a little bit deeper.
He concluded that he thinks his team proved they have big spirit in the team and in both games scored late goals.
The draw puts Ghana top of Group E standings for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, while Angola drops to third place.
