Eddie Nketiah will be out for several weeks – Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta confirms

According to the Arsenal FC manager, Mikel Arteta, Gunners forward Eddie Nketiah is several weeks away from returning from an ankle injury he sustained earlier in the month.

Before he was sidelined due to injury, Eddi Nketiah had scored six goals in twelve games for the side.
Mikel Arteta said in an interview that it was a nasty injury and he has a big challenge ahead of him.

The Gunners have however received the needed boost with the return of Brazillian striker Gabriel Jesus as they prepare for the last-16 second-leg Europa League match against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday.

Gabriel Jesus was a substitute in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Fulham; he came on in the 77th minute after being inactive since he picked up a knee injury at the World Cup in December 2022.

It is expected that he will make his first start for the Gunners against Sporting Lisbon.

Arteta said it was great to see him back and the happiness of everyone can be felt.

He added that they missed him and now he’s back, they have to manage his minutes and his involvement in the squad and the team.
