Angela Chao is the Chair and C.E.O. of Foremost Group, an American shipping company with worldwide operations in New York.
Angela received her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree in economics from Harvard College where she graduated magna cum laude in three years.
Jeanette graduated from Smith College and earned her MBA at the College of William and Mary. Her life was cut short in 2008.
May Chao, the third Chao daughter, earned a B.A. in Economics with high honors from Wellesley College in just three-and-a-half years. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was also President of the Asia Club.
May worked for the Foremost Group for more than 10 years as Vice President in corporate treasury, cash management, and investment functions, before being appointed Chair and Executive Director of the New York State Consumer Protection Board by the New York State Governor.
Christine Chao, the fourth daughter of Ruth and James, graduated from Columbia Law School. She was the first of the daughters to be born in the United States after the family relocated to America.
Christine serves as a trustee for her alma mater, Colgate University, Brunswick School, and LitWorld, an organization devoted to promoting global literacy. She and her husband Jos Shaver have established the Ruth Mulan Chu Chao scholarship at Colgate University and have two sons, Ben and Tyler.
Grace, the fifth Chao daughter, is a graduate of Wellesley College. She earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Columbia University.
