Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has stated that Peter Obi the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) is garnering massive support from “unexpected areas”.
Lawal made this assertion during an interview with Channels Television on Friday. He revealed that the Labour Party is making gains that will shock opponents.
Babachir Lawal was reacting to comments made by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai that Peter Obi cannot win the general elections. He was adamant that the outcome of the election will be shocking.
He went on to explain that every Nigerian is determined to have a say in this election not excluding those Nasir El-Rufai says are not many; he revealed that northern Christians are not many.
Lawal asked El-Rufai to wait for February 25 and he will see the shock of his life.
He concluded by saying that, as El-Rufai goes about bandying about five and six million votes in Kano, he forgets that in the five and six million, there are about one million Igbos.
