Ajla Tomljanović was born on 7 May 1993 in Zagreb, Croatia.
She is a Croatian-Australian professional tennis player.
Tomljanovic who is a big fan of basketball started playing tennis at the age of six and moved to Florida at the age of 13 for training purposes. She is currently been coached by Fernando Martinez and Rene Gomez.
Partnering with Christina McHale, Alja won the 2009 Australian Open girls’ doubles title.
She turned professional in 2009 but played her first professional International Tennis Federation (ITF) event in October 2008 in Mexico City.
Tomljanovic has four singles and three doubles ITF titles in her trophy cabinet. She attained her highest career ranking of world number 38 in singles on 21 February 2022 while she reached world number 47 in doubles ranking on 5 January 15.
