Fani Willis is an American attorney who holds the position of district attorney for Fulton County, Georgia, encompassing much of Atlanta, since 2021, marking her as the first woman to assume this role.
Beginning her career in government as a solicitor, Willis prosecuted misdemeanors and city ordinance violations before dedicating 16 years to the Fulton County district attorney’s office.

Transitioning to private practice in 2018, Willis sought a seat on the Fulton County Superior Court but was unsuccessful. In 2019, she assumed the role of Chief Municipal Judge for South Fulton, Georgia.
In the realm of public attention, Willis undertook an investigation into the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, which led to indictments against Donald Trump and 18 others for charges including racketeering and other offenses.
