Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed his disappointment in Sporting Lisbon’s defeat to FC Porto in the Portuguese Cup final.
The Ghana winger featured as a second-half substitute as his side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Porto on Saturday to lift the Portuguese Cup.
Fatawu Issahaku was brought on at the 56th-minute mark, to replace Nuno Santos.
In a post-match interview, Fatawu expressed his disappointment in losing the trophy to Porto.
He said that the result was not what they wanted but they have learned their lessons, and are focused on improving in subsequent matches. He showed appreciation to the fans for their unflinching support.
FC Porto took the lead through Canadian forward Stephen Eustaquio 13 minutes into the encounter and went into the break with a goal advantage.
Paulinho was sent off when he earned a second yellow card in the match, reducing Sporting Lisbon to 10 men with 18 minutes left to play.
Ivan Marcano sealed FC Porto’s victory in the 86th minute to help them lift the Portuguese Cup.
