A number of passengers have been injured, with an unaccounted for loss of life, in a train accident at Wassa Manso in the Western Region.
As per the investigation, the incident was a head-on by two trains that were moving in opposite directions at the early morning hours on Saturday, December 18.
This incident was believed to have occurred along the Tarkwa-Kojokrom rail line, and there were a few victims that are still to be identified for.
In the words of the Ghana police, it was the first time an accident with this magnitude been reported in Ghana and also in the Western Region.
Rail transport is still a small portion of transport activities in Ghana, since it is heavily focused on the transportation of raw material.
