Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah Rallies Support For Black Stars New Coach Chris Hughton

Stephen Appiah, a former captain of the Ghana Black Stars has called for support for Black Stars’ new coach Chris Hughton.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United manager is coach Otto Addo’s replacement.

He will be in the dugout with Didi Dramani and George Boateng who were both assistant coaches under Otto Addo.

The former Fenerbache midfielder told Citi FM in an interview that Ghanaians should give their support to the new Black Stars head coach.

He said that Chirs Hughton is known to everyone and he has managed a number of clubs in the United Kingdom when he came to Ghana, he had been a part of the team that took the Black Stars to the World Cup in Qatar, where he worked as a technical director.

Appiah added that it is his hope that the whole of the nation will put its support behind the new coach so that the glory days of the Black Stars would be brought back.

Stephen Appiah is on record as the first Black Stars captain to lead the team to a FIFA Mens World Cup.
