Former Ghana Defender John Paintsil Calls For Support For The Black Stars
Former Ghana defender, John Paintsil, is confident the Black Stars will return to form despite the poor start to the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The former Leicester City and West Ham player also called for support for the team after huge criticism of the team’s performance from the public.
Fans of the Black Stars calling for the sacking of coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor, with others lashing out at the players.
But John Paintsil, who has been at the World Cup twice, in 2006 and 2010, believes the team needs support rather than condemnation.
“Let’s give the boys the maximum support, they will deliver,” he posted on Twitter.

Ghana started the qualifiers with a hard fought 1-0 win in Cape Coast against Ethiopia, before falling to a late defeat to South Africa at the FNB Stadium.
The loss sends Ghana second in the Group G table, with four games remaining.
