He is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour.

Woodland studied sociology at the University of Kansas where he transferred, from Washburn University in Topeka on a golf scholarship.
He had his high school education at Shawnee Heights High School.

Gary’s collegiate career was very successful; he won four tournaments at that level.

Woodland turned professional in 2007 and initially played on the Nationwide Tour between then and 2008. He entered the PGA Tour through the qualifying school.

Woodland played on the U.S. team at the 2019 Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia in December 2019.

Gary is married and is a resident of Delray Beach, Florida.
