Ex-Black Stars striker, Augustine Arhinful, has condemned the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for not being transparent with the contract details of new head coach Chris Hughton.
The former Newcastle manager’s appointment was announced on 12 February, however, the football governing body is yet to disclose the terms of his engagement.
Augustine Arhinful is of the view that the FA’s image is being brought into disrepute due to their silence on the issue.
In an interview with LUV FM, he said that the GFA’s stance with regard to the contract of the new head coach is leaving room for speculation.
He said that everything is shrouded in secrecy or we don’t want people to know what is happening, and it creates room for speculation, and that’s how come we are always or people are always having issues with the FA. Not only this FA but all the FAs so far.
The former Ghana international was reacting to speculations in the media that Chris Hughton was offered a one-year contract which he turned down.
The GFA is yet to throw any light on the situation, leading to discomfort among many followers of the national team.
