Ghana captain, Andre Ayew, has equalled his father’s Abedi Pele record of scoring goals with Qatari giants Al Sadd.
It took Ayew only 3 months in order to get the exact number of goals scored by his father, who spend a year in Al Sadd during his illustrious career.
The three-time African most successful player moved from Al Sadd at the end of 1982, and when he left at the end of 1983 scored seven goals.
His son, who was previously with Swansea City and West Ham, has equalled the record after only eight games in the top league.
Andre Ayew in sensational fashion has already scored 7 goals.
After a blank during his first game, Ayew has scored seven consecutive games and is a good possibility to win the Golden boot.
He’s expected to beat his father’s record soon and also make more contributions to the club.
With the inclusion of Ayew, Al Sadd are more powerful and are able to effectively defend their league, and excel in the Asian Champions League.
