Ghana Coach Chris Hughton Wants ‘mixed’ Black Stars Squad

Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton is very intent on building a Black Stars team with a blend of youthful and experienced players to the team.

Chris Hughton was officially unveiled on Monday morning at the SG Mall in Kumasi and will the national team until December 2024.

Both Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and George Boateng who served under Otto Addo as assistant coaches will be serving in the same capacities under Chris Hughton.

During his unveiling, the experienced manager revealed that he looks to build a team on a mix of experience and youth.

In a response to a question on how he intends to develop his team, he said we went to the World Cup campaign with the youngest squad and his plan is to bring in young players and add experienced players, which is always a mix.

He added that he also has an eye on development for the team.

His first assignment is against Angola in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers. Ghana will host Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday before the reverse fixture in Luanda on March 27.
