Ghana Defender Alexander Djiku Excels As Strasbourg Thump Metz In France

Ghana defender Alexander Djiku excelled in Strasbourg’s impressive win over Metz in French Ligue 1 on Friday night.

Djiku urged Strasbourg to be strong ahead of the game after their disappointing showing in Lyon resulted in a 3-1 defeat last weekend.

“Friday, in front of our supporters, we will have to be strong to win,” Djiku said.

And they did. Their strong performance saw them record a 3-0 victory over Metz at the Stade de la Meinau.

It is their second victory of the season and takes them to 10th on the table.

Djiku has missed only one game for Strasbourg this season, and that was because he was suspended for picking up a red card.

He has made five appearances for Strasbourg in the league.
