Ghana Forward Emmanuel Gyasi Explains ‘Kangaroo’ Celebration In Spezia’s Serie A Opener

Ghana forward, Emmanuel Gyasi, has revealed the reason behind his ‘Kangaroo’ celebration on the opening day of the 2021/22 season.

The Black Stars forward netted Spezia’s first goal of the season, and celebrated with a Kangaroo dance, as the Eagles picked a point at Cagliari.

Emmanuel Gyasi disclosed the celebration was dedicated to his cousin, who requested he performed the Kangaroo dance when he scores.

According to the winger, there will be more of such celebrations this season.

“My cousin asked me for it, you’ll see it again,” he said after the game.

The 27-year-old was disappointed after a penalty shouts was waved on by the referee as he was impeded in the box.

However, Gyasi was satisfied with the result, as the game ended 2-2 against Cagliari.

“I was touched 100%, but unfortunately the penalty was not given, so we can only accept the decision and think about the next match,” said Gyasi.

“I’m sorry for the missed 3 points, but it’s okay, we played well, and I’m satisfied,” he added.

Emmanuel Gyasi and Simone Bastoni gave Spezia a two goal lead before the hour mark, but Joao Pedro’s brace in four minutes earned Cagliari a point.
