Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has revealed his intention to organize a farewell game to raise funds for the late Christian Atsu’s family.
Christian Atsu lost his life as a result of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on 6 February.
He had only the day before scored for his team against Kasimpasa before being trapped under the rubble of his apartment building for about 12 days.
His mortal remains have been flown to Ghana on Sunday through Turkish Airlines and have been deposited at the 37 Military Hospital.
Speaking to Peace FM, Gyan stated his intention to organize a farewell match in order to raise funds for the bereaved family.
He is planning to organize a game to raise money for the family and believes when that day comes, everyone including the stars will come on board to support us so that we can raise funds for the family of Christian Atsu.
The late Ghana winger’s one-week observation has been scheduled for March 4, 2023.
