Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on November 13, 1957, Gregory “Greg” Wayne Abbott is an American, attorney, politician and a former jurist.
An Abbott while at Duncanville High School was on the track team.
He obtained a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration in finance from the University of Texas in 1981.It is while at the University of Texas that he met his wife.
Greg then studied for his Juris Doctor degree from the Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tennessee in 1984.
He then went into private practice from 1984 to 1992 with the private legal firm Butler and Binion, LLP.
Abbott has been serving as the 48th governor of Texas since 2015. He was first elected governor in 2014 and again in 2018.
He served as a member of the Texas Supreme Court from 1996 to 2001. Greg is a member of the Republican Party.
Abbott is married with a child.
