Hage Gottfried Geingob, a Namibian statesman, held the position of Namibia’s third president from 2015 until his passing in February 2024. Geingob also served as Namibia’s inaugural Prime Minister from 1990 to 2002 and later resumed the role from 2012 to 2015.
Hage Geingob Children: Hage Geingob Jr., Nangula Geingos-Dukes, Dângos Geingos
Hage Geingob Jr., Nangula Geingos-Dukes, and Dângos Geingos are the three children of the late Namibian president from his two marriages.
He had his daughter and first child Nangula Geingos-Dukes from his first marriage in 1967 to Priscilla Charlene Cash, a New York City native and he later married Loini Kandume from 1993 to 2008. They had two children from their marriage; a daughter, Dângos Geingos, and a son Hage Geingob Jr. before his current wife Monica Geingos from 2014 until he died in 2024.
On February 4th, Vice President Nangolo Mbumba officially declared the passing of Hage Gottfried Geingob at Lady Pohamba Hospital in Windhoek, where he had been undergoing treatment.
Vice President Mbumba, noting that Geingob’s wife and children were with him during his final moments, announced the sad news.
At the age of 82, Geingob passed away. In a promptly organized event at State House in Windhoek, Vice President Nangolo Mbumba was sworn in as the acting President of Namibia, just 15 hours after Geingob’s demise.
