Amir Liaquat Hussain is a politician, comedian, columnist and television host who is a Pakistani national.
Born on 5 July 1971, Amir Liaquat is widely known for his controversial comments about his country’s superstars.
His father, Sheikh Liaquat Hussain was a politician while his mother, Mahmooda Sultana was a columnist.
He has been a member of the Pakistani National Assembly since August 2018, having previously served in the National Assembly from 2002 to 2007 and also as the Minister of State for Religious Affairs from 2004 to 2007.
Amir has been embroiled in controversies surrounding his academic qualification.
The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in 2006 declared the Bachelor of Arts degree in Islamic Studies Liaquat obtained from the Trinity College and University as fake and unrecognized.
