Veteran Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo has revealed that he is not bothered about the brouhaha that has risen over his collaboration with Bob Marley’s family to release a remake of Bob’s Stir It Up record.
Since the release of the song, scores have been divided on whether he was the best candidate to step on such a classic. One of such people who believe Sarkodie was the wrong choice is Blakk Rasta. According to the reggae musician Sarkodie desecrated reggae when he agreed to jump on such a classic.
However, during his interview with Kojo Manuel on Accra-based YFM’s TheDryve show, Sarkodie revealed that he is not bothered by the discourse that has emerged after his collabo.
“The negativity around ‘Stir It Up’ doesn’t bother me because I think that’s just finding it difficult to believe. The stage I’m at in my career now comes with things like this, and I’m fine with it.”
