I Don’t See Myself As A Feminist – Ini Edo

Veteran Nigerian actress, Ini Edo has revealed that she does not see herself as a feminist even though she believes and wants the rights of women to be respected.

Speaking during a recent interview, Ini Edo explained that even though she believes women also have rights, she is not keen on fighting for equal rights.

She added that she was raised to respect men and as such, she doesn’t see herself fighting to become the ‘King’ in a relationship as some women who call themselves feminists are doing.

“Being a feminist means different things to different people. I love to protect women’s rights and I feel the need for equality, but I am also a structured person. I have been raised a certain way. I am raised to respect and value men.”

It is has become a norm for some women who claim to be fighting for equal rights as men to pass all set limits. Sometimes, these women end up becoming the ‘men’ in the relationship in the name of fairness.

This has resulted in a lot of crashes in marriages especially, celebrity marriages as the women in these marriages fail to take up their responsibilities or equal responsibilities despite fighting for equality.
