Maxwell Konadu, a former assistant coach of the Black Stars, says his hands are clean when it comes to the matter of taking bribes to influence the selection of players.
Konadu whose coaching stint with the Black Stars ended in early 2022, is currently the head coach of Legon Cities, a Ghana Premier League side.
He said that he was given the opportunity to be the assistant coach of the Black Stars by Kwesi Appiah and that he has never taken money from any footballer to influence selection though it is clear he is not wealthy, he has a lot of self-respect.
Maxwell Konadu stresses that because he has been where the players are now before, he can’t stoop so low to take bribes from them. He suggests that he does not know the residences of the players.
He cited an instance where he was accused of taking bribes from players when he visited current Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew in his home.
He adds that through all the stages of his coaching career, he can openly say he has never taken bribes to influence player selection.
