Mustapha Ussif, the Minister of Youth and Sport has pledged his commitment to consider revising the use of e-ticketing for Ghana Premier League matches.
His comments come in the wake of the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, raising concerns over the poor match attendance at local games, blaming it on the implementation of the e-ticketing system.
The GFA President in a meeting with the Minister of Sports on Wednesday asked the government to reconsider the deployment of the e-ticketing system for domestic matches or run it alongside the manual ticketing system.
Honorable Mustapha Ussif gave assurances to Kurt Okraku that he would raise the issue with the relevant authorities and give feedback when due.
He stressed that the request by the FA president is “doable” and that the government would ensure all avenues are considered in order to increase the numbers at local matches.
The minister said he can assure the FA that their plea is well noted and that he will look into it with the relevant bodies and come back to them in due course but they can rest assured that it is doable
