Inaki Williams Named La Liga African MVP Mid-season Award Winner

Ghana striker, Inaki Williams, has been named the African Most Valuable Player (MVP) mid-season award in the 2022/23 La Liga season.

The award is presented to the best African footballer in Spain’s top football league based on their performance in the first half of the season.

Some of the footballers who were in contention for the award with Inaki Williams are his compatriots Abdul Mumin, Baba Iddrisu, and Joseph Aidoo among a host of other African footballers who were nominated for the award.

Some of the African footballers who made the list of competitors are Bono, Samuel Chukwueze, Youssef En-Nesyri, Franck Kessié, and Ilaix Moriba.

Inaki Williams has scored five goals and provided one assist after featuring 18 times for Athletic Club Bilbao making him one of the overall best players in the league this season.

It is in recognition of his immense contribution to his team that he earned the mid-season award of MVP in La Liga.

Williams is currently out injured making him unable to continue his impressive run of 251 consecutive league games against Celta Vigo.
