Benjamin Géza Affleck is an American actor and director. He was born on August 15, 1972. When he was younger, he made his acting debut as the lead in the PBS children’s program The Voyage of the Mimi.
Later, he made appearances in movies by Kevin Smith, such as Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma, as well as the indie coming-of-age comedy Dazed and Confused.
Affleck rose to prominence after co-writing and co-starring in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting, which won the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, with his boyhood friend Matt Damon. He subsequently began to establish himself as one of the best directors in Hollywood.
Among his honors are two Oscars, three Golden Globes, and the Volpi Cup, the top prize presented to performers at the Venice Film Festival.
