Hushpuppi was born on October 11, 1982, in Lagos, Nigeria, and was raised there. He later emigrated to Malaysia and subsequently to the United Arab Emirates, where he lived until his arrest.

There is no confirm report about whether Hushpuppi is dead, however, award-winning Nigerian investigative journalist, Mrs Kemi Olunloyo, has asserted that the convicted Nigerian internet fraudster has reportedly died in the US.
According to her, Huspuppi died whiles still in police custody abroad.
