Ghana midfielder, Mohammed Kudus has expressed delight after making his injury return in Ajax’s big win against Fortuna Sittard in the Dutch Eredivisie on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old replaced Steven Berghuis after the break and scored as Ajax thumped Fortuna Sittard 5-0 at the Offermans Joosten Stadion.
“It feels good to be back,” he told NOS after the game. “It’s nice to help your team get three points. It’s good for my self-confidence and I’m getting a race rhythm,” he added.
Mohammed Kudus picked up an injury during pre-season against Anderlecht and has struggled with fitness issues since joining the Dutch giants.
But the ex-FC Nordsjaelland player feels relieved after making full recovery.
“I try to control everything myself. The rest I leave to God. I do my best to keep fit. Nobody wants to get injured, but when that happens, it’s important to recover and get back to the team,” said the Ghanaian.
The Right to Dream Academy graduate is expected to fight for a place in the team in upcoming games.
“That’s the way it is everywhere. It’s a healthy battle because everyone lifts each other to the next level. We push each other every day to get better,” noted Kudus.
