It’s Unfortunate I Couldn’t Ever Play For Ghana At The CHAN Level – Asamoah Gyan

Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has revealed that it would have been an honor for him to have presented the country at any of the CHAN tournaments.

Asamoah Gyan is currently in Algerian as of the guests of the continent’s football governing body CAF for the 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament.

Absolutely, was the response the legendary Ghanaian strike gave to a question on whether the CHAN tournament is one he would have liked to feature in.

He went on to say that he had already left the continent when the CHAN tournament was launched, so was not eligible to participate in it.

Gyan joked that if he had participated in the CHAN tournament when it was launched by CAF in 2009, he would have caused misfortunes.

He added that some African footballing greats like himself, George Weah, Sadio Mané, and Samuel Eto’o, were developed on the continent and so it is appropriate that such talents are showcased.

Asamoah Gyan will be among the African stars in the stands on Saturday when Algeria lock horns with Senegal for the trophy of the 2022 CHAN tournament.
