Ivan “Ivica” Osim was a Bosnian professional footballer and football manager. He was head coach of the Japan national team, before suffering a stroke in November 2007 and leaving the post.
On April 18, 2011, FIFA confirmed that Osim became president of the interim committee, which was created to manage the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina following the country’s suspension from any international tournaments. He was president until the 13th of December in 2012.

Born on May 6, 1941, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Osim died on May 1, 2022, at the age of 80, after years of health issues following his stroke in 2007.
As a player, Osim was a member of the Yugoslavia national team, and played in the 1964 Summer Olympics.
As manager assistant, he won the bronze medal for Yugoslavia in the 1984 Summer Olympics and made it to the quarterfinals at the 1990 FIFA World Cup as the head coaching coach for Yugoslavia.
He also made it to the 1984-1985 UEFA Cup semi-finals as manager of his hometown club Zeljeznicar.
