Ivorian footballer, Oussou Konan, has reportedly been poisoned to death shortly after he paid his extended family a visit to celebrate the New Year with them.
The sad news was shared by GTV Sports+ on their official Twitter handle.
According to them, the popular Ivorian football international who until recently plays Al-Bukiryah Football Club in Saudi Arabia died in his hometown while spending some time with them as part of the new year celebration.
Announcing the sad news, GTV Sports+ wrote; “JUST IN: Former Africa Sports, Espérance and Al Ahly striker Oussou Konan has passed away at age 32 in his hometown in Ivory Coast. According to some reports, the player was poisoned in his hometown while on a visit. 😒”

It was initially reported that he died from a short illness, but reports later emerged that he was poisoned.
