The name nicknamed “The Golden Bear”, Jack William Nicklaus is a retired professional golfer from American. He doubles as golf course designer. Jack Nicklaus was on 21 January 1940 in Columbus, Ohio.
The Golden Bear is regarded in the golfing circles as one of the greatest of all time in the sport. He has under his belt 18 major champions, which are 3 more than the great golfer Tiger Woods (15) has won.
Nicklaus officially became a professional golfer in 1961; he had initially wanted to remain an amateur to follow in the steps of his role model Bobby Jones. After 16 previous competitions, Jack finally won his first major- the U.S. Open in 1962.
He studied insurance at the Ohio State University, where he was from 1957-1961.
