Jamey Rootes was born in 1966 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He was an American sports executive.
As the president of the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL), he was in charge of the business dealings of the team.
He had been with the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer where he was the president and general manager before joining the Houston Texans.
Rootes earned his first degree at Clemson University where he played soccer and was a member of the Beta Theta Phi fraternity. He went on to obtain an MBA at Indiana University Bloomington where he doubled as an assistant soccer coach.
He spent 18 days as the chief executive officer of the Houston Dynamo FC of the MLS and Houston Dash of the National Women’s Soccer League.
Rootes resigned from his position at the Houston Texans in February 2021 after working there for over two decades.
