James Bartlett was a British-born South African actor best known for his role as the wicked puppet master, David Genaro, in Rhythm City and his theatre work.
Bartlett was a well known multi-faceted South African actor prior to playing as a character in Rhythm City. He first began playing the role on the show as David Genaro in 2007.
He was the very first person to speak in the scene 1 of the TV show Isidingo as the character Mike O’Riley when it was broadcast by South African television.
On the production of Isidingo, the actor acted alongside Hlomla Dandala, who played as Derek Nyathi.
In 1997, Bartlett played the role of a character in an action MNET movie filmed for TVcalled The Sexy Girls. The genre of gang films exposed the reality of lifestyle of gangsters that was prevalent in Cape Town.
Bartlett also appeared as a guest in his role in the South African, Canadian TV series Jozi-H, a hospital drama that is set within Johannesburg, South Africa.
