Jay-Z known in private life as Shawn Corey Carter is an American rapper, record executive, and entrepreneur. He was born on 4 December 1969 in New York City.

Carter is one of the most influential artists in hip-hop history and has been very instrumental in the commercial success of artists like J.Cole, Kanye West, and Rihanna.

His musical career began in the late 1980s, from which he made the leap to co-found Roc-A-Fella Records in 1995. His maiden studio album titled Reasonable Doubt was released in 1996; the album received rave reviews and made him a force to reckon with in the music business.

According to Jay Z, Eric’s reckless behavior got him to steal his necklace. Jay Z revealed that he shot Eric in the shoulder after he stole his Necklace when they were young. Eric ended up recovering, and he did not press charges against his brother.
