She was a regular contributor to NBC News and appeared frequently on The Today Show. She was also the first female judge elected in Westchester County, New York. Jeanine Ferris was born and raised in Elmira, New York, to Lebanese-American parents.

During her childhood, her father worked as a mobile home salesman and her mother as a department store model in Beirut. Her parents were Maronites who practiced Catholicism. Pirro had wanted to be a lawyer since she was six years old.
