Jeffrey Bossert Clark was born on 17 April 1967 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is an American lawyer who was Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division from 2018 to 2021.
He was appointed as the acting head of the Civil Division in September 2020. He is now a Senior Fellow and Director of Litigation at the Center for Renewing America.
Clark graduated from Father Judge High School in Tacony, Pennsylvania, and went to Harvard College to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and history. He has a Master of Arts degree in urban affairs and public policy from the University of Delaware and a Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Clark worked as a clerk for Judge Danny J. Boggs of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit after graduating from college before joining Kirkland & Ellis as a lawyer.
He is a member of the Federalist Society.
