Jesse Powell was born on 12 September 1971 in Gary, Indiana. He was an American singer whose genre included R&B, Soul, and Blues.
He was a prolific songwriter too. Powell was discovered by American musician and record executive Louil Silas Jr.
Powell and his siblings Trina, Tamara, and Jacob performed at local talent shows. It was during one of such shows that Jesse caught the eye of Carl Roland who was a producer in Kansas City.
