Jesse Powell was an American R&B, Soul, and Blues singer and songwriter. Powell was born to African-American parents on 12 September 1971 in Gary, Indiana.
His mother was Emerald William, his father is however unknown.
Powell until his demise was signed to the MCA record label. He was discovered by a producer in Kansas City called Carl Roland while performing at a talent show with his younger siblings Trina and Tamara. He has a brother called Jacob.
Powell was a Grammy nominee whose most popular song “You” peaked at number two on R&B and number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Powell died at his Los Angeles home on September 13, 2022, at the age of 51 from a cardiac arrest.

The late Jesse Powell had three siblings, a brother called Jacob Powell and two sisters called Trina and Tamara Powell.
Trina and Tamara are an R&B duo who were a prominent feature on the music scene in the 90s.
Tamara is a successful R&B/soul singer and songwriter.
She is a staff writer for EMI Music Publishing and is a vocal producer who is very influential and is a Grammy Award winner
Tamara has worked with the likes of Dr. Dre, Boyz II Men, Fantasia, Kanye West, John Legend, Eminem, Will Smith, Lauryn Hill, and Jermaine Dupri. She also works as a content development executive.
Trina is the second half of the R&B duo Trina and Tamara. Unlike her sister not have is known about her current dealings.
