Joan Lombardi, also known as Joan Hodges was born in 1926 in Brooklyn, New York.
She was the widow of Hall of Famer and World Series-winning manager of the New York Mets, Gil Hodges.
Joan and Gil Hodges had been married from 1948 until his death in 1972. They had three children.
Hodges died on Saturday 17 September 2022 after a long battle with an undisclosed illness.

Gil Jr. Hodges was on 12 March 1950 but much is not known about him at present.
