Joan Joyce was the softball coach at Florida Atlantic for a period of 28 years, until her passing in 2022. She was previously a softball player for the Raybestos Brakettes and the Orange Lionettes.
She had set records in the LPGA Tour as a golfer, as well as on the USA women’s basketball team. Furthermore, she was also a player and coach on The Connecticut Clippers volleyball team.
From 1996 through 2014, Joyce took over FAU’s women’s golf team.
She was a part of the LPGA Tour for over 20 years. She is also listed in with Guinness Book of World Records as the all-time record holder in golf for “Fewest Putts in a Round for the LPGA or PGA.”
Before her time as a coach, Joyce was known as one of the best softball pitchers of all time.

Born on August 18, 1940, Joan Joyce, died on March 27, 2022, at the age of 81.
