John Aylward was an American actor. Perhaps his most well-known for playing the former DNC chairman Barry Goodwin on the NBC television series The West Wing and for playing Dr. Donald Anspaugh on the NBC television series ER.
He was also the voice of Dr. Arne Magusson in Half-Life 2 Episode 2.
Aylward was raised in Seattle, Washington. He attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and then went on to Prep High School.
However, he graduated from Garfield High School with a degree in 1965.

He was one of the founders members of Seattle’s Empty Space Theatre in 1973.
