Jonathan Mensah, Mohammed Kudus, Daniel Amartey Nominated For SWAG Footballer Of The Year Award

Ghanaian trio Daniel Amartey of Leicester City, Mohammed Kudus of Ajax, and Jonathan Mensah of Columbus Crew have been selected to be finalists for this year’s Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Foreign Footballer of the Year Award.

The Black Star players will compete for the prize, to be awarded at the 46th anniversary of the unbroken SWAG Awards in December 2021.

Daniel Amartey won two trophies while playing for English Premier League outfit Leicester City during this calendar year.

He took home his first FA Cup and the FA Community Shield along with the Foxes.

Jonathan Mensah also captained Columbus Crew to lift the MLS trophy in the last season.

Mohammed Kudus had a decent season, with Ajax getting the Eredivise title as well as Ajax winning the FA Cup.

The former Nordsjaelland midfielder has been extremely influential for his national team Black Stars in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
