Former AS Roma forward, Felix Afena-Gyan has heaped praises on his former boss, Jose Mourinho, stating that the Portuguese manager is his second father.
The Ghana international forward spent six months with the U-19 team of AS Roma before joining the senior side in January 2021.
Afena-Gyan was called to the senior team following his outstanding performance with the junior side.
The young forward is wildly known to have come off the bench to score a brace to help Roma beat Genoa under Jose Mourinho. Afena-Gyan finished the season with a medal with Roma winning the Europa Conference League.
Afena-Gyan told La Gazzetta Dello Sport that Mourinho is the one who made him who he is today and that he regards his former manager as his second father.
At the start of the current season, Afena-Gyan joined Cremonese on a permanent basis from Roma and has room to develop.
On Tuesday, he scored the winner against Serie A giants Napoli in the Coppa Italia.
Afena-Gyan came off the bench to send his side through to the quarterfinals of the competition with a leveler and a winning penalty.
He will come face to face with his “second father” when his side meets AS Roma in the last eight of the Coppa Italia.
