The medical team of Ghana’s football governing body has confirmed that the nation’s number one goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott will be available for selection on Thursday for the clash against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
It was reported earlier that the goalkeeper had an injury scare when a goalpost fell on him during training at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
After Wollacot was assessed, the team’s medical team declared the incident a not serious one and gave the clearance for him to train on Wednesday.
The GFA had stated that the Charlton Athletic shot-stopper suffered a soft tissue contusion to his big toe on his right foot.
The assessment led the medical team to declare that there are no major medical worries and went on to assure football lovers that the goalkeeper will be available for selection on Thursday afternoon.
Ghana will take on Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium at 4 pm.
