Kaia Kanepi is a professional tennis player born on 10 June 1985. She was born in Haapsalu, Estonia.
Her mother who was a housewife played tennis with Kaia’s sister Kadri who won a tennis scholarship to study in the U.S.A.
This led the young Kaia to develop a keen interest in the game of tennis.
She stepped on court for the first time when she was only eight years, and has always had the support of her family in her pursuit of a career in tennis.
She became a professional tennis player in 1999.
Kaia’s highest career ranking has been number 15 and this was achieved on 20 August 2012. She has four WTA Tour singles titles under her belt.
